It's the love of their music. People would love to see their favorite artist sing/rap again. Even for fans that weren't alive when they peformed. Bring on Elvis, Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper,etc. We've seen new technology with 'Singing in the Rain' commercials reworked to have the original artist performing again and that one with the great Nat king Cole singing with his daughter. I'd predict we'll see more of this, like M. Jackson, the Rat Pack,etc. I liked certain Tupac songs and thought this was ingeniously done. I knew it was a hologram from the story before i watched the video....and it still sent chills down my spine...
...maybe if they did it for hendrix or lennon or otis redding or someone else that died young that one of you guys grew up on....it might have had a similar effect....i would have loved to have been there....
