Scenario: Your wife or significant other is pretty pissed that you have so many radios She wants you to get rid of some. You see a CD box (pictured below) for $5, you don't really want a new school cd boomer, you like traditional boxes

Please answer poll above :hmmm:

Id like to pick both of the first 2!
However I wouldnt buy a cd box anyway.
My collection is at the point that the wife has no idea how many radios I have anyway so she's getting over the "not another one" stage, she has just started to accept that I'm going to buy radios in the same way I accept that she's going to buy another pair of shoes :-D

I bought a JVC PCX-100 for $15 bucks, cleaned it and sold it for $26 plus shipping on eBay. I just don't do CD boxes. I made that a serious cut off point in my collection.

For 5 bones you can't go wrong for that "washing the car" radio. These are the ones you don't mind getting killed. And you can toss in an old fave CD if you got one. So why not? :-D

Gotta love the votes breakdown so far

Personally, If I really want it, you won't talk me out of it, even under threat.

I'll find a way to get it. :-P :nonono:

I'm gonna try to keep the number of boomers in my stable to a bare minimum. I don't have 1000's of bucks to throw at this hobby so I have to trade up, fix up if possible & find deals but I won't go past 3-5 boxes at 1 time. I really only want 3.

1. The best flagship box or GIANT grail. I like the way I have my triple7 modded & so far I'm happy with it.
2. A really good & rare mid-size 'classic' chrome box with 8" woofers & good tweeters. Maybe a crown or early CONION.
3. The sudio or hi-fi mini system type that is all about the precision & clarity of stereo imaging. You hi-fi heads know what I'm saying. A Marantz, Telefunken or Pioneer should fill the need quite well.

8 would buy ... 8 wouldn't buy ... interesting

I obviously bought the radio. I told the missus straight away. I have LOTS of cd's so this might get some play. Thinking about selling ... one just got posted in WA so I will watch that to see how it goes. But the pic the seller used on ebay looks crap, and they have the speakers on back to front :nonono:

Buy it, tell her, and remember that any box with an ANTENNA is worth $5 just for the antenna!

Speaker spares are also worth $5 all day any day.

No, I've already passed on that same model for a similar price. At the time I saw it, I just had too many boxes and it wasn't really what I was looking for.
