Worth fixing?

So, this little piece broke off my Hitachi. Is it worth trying to JB weld or something? This handle is probably just cheap pot metal.....Does JB even work on that? I honestly doubt it would take the weight without breaking again.

You might be able to drill, tap it, and install some kind of fastener to make it functional again. Or I bet trommelmops could come up with some solution.

As for JB weld, it’s great but no, I don’t think it will work nor would I trust it in this case.

Find a screw of the right size, shape the head, drill and use 2K epoxy on the screw thread to bond it well in the drilled hole.
I would use a screw with a thread that will begin like after 4 mm.

Looks like there's something else rattling around inside, maybe a washer or clip that holds it in there. I'll retreive it and see if it's realistic to make something that would fit it. I might just look for a donor handle instead. Pretty sure Hitachi used the same handle on many models.
