I post lots of videos and pictures of my boomboxes but none of my walkman. I only have one. My mother bought it for me when I was in grade school. I almost traded it once in school but she told me if I did she wasn't ever getting me anything else. It was 40 dollars new at Montgomery Ward. Well fast forward to now and I still have it and keeping it alive along with all my other equipment. It's funny how I can remember what the store looked like in my mind when I picked it out begging and pleading that I needed and would do extra chores to get it :-)

Recently I had an eBay seller get annoyed because I asked him (in consideration of purchase) if his 30 yr old item played as if new. He said that wasn't possible. One day I hope he stumbles across this video to see it is very much possible....even on a model that had poor reviews in the day (like my one and only walkman). The Panasonic RQ-V180

Also a question is posed within the video of how you pros clean your walkman and what do you do to guarantee it lasts and plays well. I go over in the video of what I do.

Let me know if I am missing anything that will help keep my walkman alive. At some point I demonstrate its performance by plugging into my DJ Tech boombox

Nice video - and I agree with you regarding the Maxell XL-II cassettes. Their quality is top notch.

By the way, there are times that you sound like Josh McDermitt (Eugene on The Walking Dead).  Which makes me wonder... are you Josh McDermitt? :-D
