I hate thinking about selling any of my boxes, but I need to come up with about $300 and quick......

1. Crown 950
2. Pioneer SK-550 custom
3. Lasonic TRC-975
4. Victor RC-M70

What would you sell and why?

I'm leaning towards the 975 because it could be easy to replace. I never use the custom blue pioneer sk-550. I never use the crown. And the victor is only 90fm and I have a m75 with the cool extra knobs/functions that the victor has.....

As I look around at my collection, I regret selling some of my radios from the past, some of mine are just worthless, but they are part of my "Display".

I guess I'm just not much of a seller :-/

M70's are dime a dozen.........there's at least 10 of them on Ebay every single week. Now, you say yours is a Victor, which I guess is more rare, but other than a badge, what's the difference?

Oh and the Crown 950, there's at least 2-3 of them on Ebay Germany every week.

I figured any of the 4 I could replace later. The lasonic and victor should get the most $$.

I do have:
Jvc m70
Victor m70
Jvc M71 gold
Jvc m75 gold

^ even though the victor is only 90fm and I don't use it much, it is still different than the other 3.

The lasonic is nice, but could be replaced and bring quick cash.

The pioneer I havnt used in 4 years and it is time to let it go, but it won't bring enough $ on its own so the crown would have to fill the void of the amount I still need to make.

I am the same! I never sold a single box! They bring great memories of the past! I am a buyer to preserve them!

^ that's what I was leaning towards. It would be the quickest to $300. Its in really good shape.

I would sell the crown and the pioneer.
The Lasonic and Victor maybe harder to replace IN THE SAME CONDITION for the money you get :-)

If im selling because I want big cash and im never replacing the radios then its the Lasonic then Victor, if I just want quick cash and im replacing radios at a later time im selling the Crown and Pioneer.
I'd rather get a Crown 950 with a bunch of problems than a much more expensive Lasonic 975 with a bunch of problems

in the last 9 years since i learned to use a computer i only made a profit on 1 radio.i don't collect to sell i collect to own , i bought every beater known to man and at the end of the day i can't really say i'm happier with 30 boxes than i was with the 2 i started with back in 2001. i only sold any radio to either help someone or pay bills , i collect every kind of boombox not just the so called grail's , to me they are all boomboxes no matter the social or financial value. that's why i got so much shlt nobody want's , your too damn spoiled on these grails and miss out on the meat and potatoes boxes that made those grails look so good. just imagine if every box was a conion , dudes would be fighting over a panny rx 5050 like it was the rarest thing on earth.

my brother said it best , things are much easier to get than they are to keep.

this public service announcement has been brought to you by the disgruntled boombox collectors union of america lol.

for me its the crown.if you never use it anyway its not going to be noticed-however,not sure it would pull in your desired dollar amount matey-but it would help-plus you can obtain a replacement fairly easily in the future should you need to-good luck and hope you get sorted ;-)

Wise words right there Floyd (at least to me).

I recently posted my whole crappy collection. Not much in the grail department. But every radio has a story in my mind of how it got here.

I would LOVE to have an M90 or C100F, but more than anything, I want to be able to come here and post how I "Found It In The Wild". I still have dreams of stumbling into an old house, or finding one at the swapmeet or at an estate sale. When I read the stories posted here about stuff like that it makes me as happy as it makes me insane. Because I know they are still out there waiting to be found!

Yup the Crown, the fully working beauty is on its way to a new home.

Actually, I didn't box up the Crown, I sent the extra M90 I have so the new owner will be really surprised when he opens it up!
