I just created an account after purchasing a JVC RC-M50C. I've been listening to cassettes and making homemade tapes for about a year now on a home deck, and I thought boomboxes were the logical next step. What really started my collection was a Sears boombox I found at a thrift store, but I'm much more excited after getting the JVC. It definitely needs some work, but that's part of the fun. I can't wait to learn more about boomboxes and be a part of the community.
