Whats Monitor For???

Well i got a Realistic CTR-54 it works good but when i switch the monitor switch to high or low it makes this loud screeching when a tape is playing but when its on radio it doesnt do nothing whats the Monitor switch for ???

Switch is for recording am stations due to noise in background

Ok so when ever I want to record something on AM on to tape and there little noise in the back ground I use the monitor switch to take it out or when's its faint I use it to make it louder does it work for FM too

That's cool. I was thinking it might work much like the Tape Monitor feature on a receiver or something. Then I saw the picture of the switch and I have no clue.

Hey Bill, I thought "beat cut" was what helped with AM.

beat cut is for the AM to cut down the noise the monitor i belive works with the mic i think if u plug in a mic without hitting record u should be able to monitor the sound simular to mic mixing..
