Jeannie and I listed our house because we are pretty sick of land owners here so we found a house not to far away. We looked at it on Tuesday then went back Thursday and put in offer. On Friday the realtor called and said if we didn't sign and get all necessary documents by 8:00am this morning that we might lose house to a couple that had looked at it 2 weeks ago and we might end up in a bidding war. So at 10:30 last night we ran around to get all documents and proof of funds so we could sign the contract with the owner at 2:00am. So we are the proud owner of this beautiful Tudor home with 4 beds 3 baths , finished basement, 2 car attached garage and 1 car detached garage. We are so excited and should be moving in sometime in October. Our house is still on market here and hopefully we sell soon

Congrats Bill! Now there is more space for boomboxes!

Thanks but honestly there is less square footage in new house but I'm thinking about building nice shelves in finished basement for them. Still haven't decided yet :-). See our basement now is just storage space but since we have extra garage we will use it for storage then we will have more usable space  we also will have wood burning stove that can heat whole house without gas so hopefully we will save money.

Grats! I know all about bidding wars. We tried to buy in cali about 5 years back, but there were too many bidders on each house. All of them went for well above list price.

Yeah we were worried about bidding war going above list price but we ended up just paying list price so that's cool :-)

Thanks guys :-). The house was built in 1973. We got the house for $105,000. They started the price at $150,000 about 2 months ago and most houses in the area are between $120,000- $150,000. With a little work and updating we think the house should be closer to $150,000. The owners are an older couple and house really was never updated.
