Hi all.

I have a Japanese Boombox that I would like to keep original. I have plugged it into our USA mains for short periods, and it plays fine, but now want to get the correct voltage transformer to power it, 120V- 100V.
Does anyone a brand recommendation in terms of transformers, or even a trusted source?

Thanks.

I have had success with using old Laptop power supplies you can connect to the battery terminals or sweat in a new low voltage plug to suit if it doesn't already have one. You can run a slightly higher voltage but not lower.

The internal transformers are bespoke and very hard to find a new one to match.

This is the last option. Be careful using the correct polarity. There is a good chance to reverse the polarity if one doesn't pay attention to the polarity marked on the boombox and the power supply plug.
