Sadly no comparison have been made. Both portable bluetooth speakers are very expen$ive. I am waiting someone do a side by side soundtest :yes: :yes:

The Vifa certainly looks unique - who would have throught someone would have made a wool BT speaker.

It must sound pretty amazing according to the reviews. The battery life might be a bit limited though. $800 is expensive but buyers seem happy.

The new model Oslo model is reportedly superior sounding, has better battery life and is smaller and cheaper.

They look a bit girlie but if you prefer HiFi sound over Boombox sound, then these models might be worth a look.

I Incidently went to my local electronics retailer yesterday and checked out the latest bigger sized BT speakers. The JBL Xtreme was probably the standout for bass although, the Exos9 isn't available here to test.

For their size, these modern tech BT speakers are pretty amazing. However, if I really wanted to crank a unit outdoors, I think I'd still grab the V5.0. You give up so much performance when you go with a smaller sized speaker.

Can you picture your v5.0 and provide some sound testing. In terms of outside performance, the Aiwa Exos 9 was previously tested to disturb a whole village and heard 600m far. Based on that, we can guess the DiamondBoxx can be heard half a mile away. That's pretty impressive loudness. :-)

Well I just had the V5.0 outside for a non-neighbour friendly blast session.

We're on the high side of the street and have a house directly across from us which is probably 50 metres away. The sound bounces off this house and causes a very strong delayed echo. Walking around the corner, you can still hear the bass and highs very clearly and it's still LOUD!

I was particularly happy with the way the highs and bass carry so well outdoors. However, I think for residential purposes, at max volume, it's simply too loud. I can imagine people calling the cops on me before too long. :-)

Max Boombox dBs is all well and good but in all honestly, how often are you going to run the thing at max? Even outdoors at the beach or a park, the sound of the V5.0 at max would be ridiculous - people would be throwing **** at you to turn it down. :lol:

It's like having a car that can do 250 kms per hour - it's great it can go that fast but how it drives at legal speeds is more important.

I never thought I'd say this but low to medium volume performance is really where it's at for real world applications. Sound quality is much more important than sound quantity. :lol:

Yes but even at legal volume those commercially available BT speakers are said to be very impressive. :-) And just from time to time an "illegal" large outdoor sound blast can be fun if the sound is premium all the way to max volume. I live in Canada we have lots of space here.

There are actually cows, horses and chicken farms near just to give you an idea. I need a Farm-blaster.

Here is a vintage version of a mid sized BT speaker - enhanced bass, nice clear highs. Not massively loud but for close by use, this RX-C45 sounds fantastic. AM/FM, deck, RCA line in. I'm rockin the little Panny at the park right now:View attachment 28772

I see those models often on ebay and there is one for $50 at my local deal site. It has been there for a month and still not selling :-D
I would buy it for $20 max

You'd only buy it for $20? - why say that? Is that your rather 'clever' way of devaluing all vintage boxes on a vintage Boombox forum??

ThIs C45 has been cranking since 1983 - so lay off the vintage boxes! I don't think there would many members who want to hear your 'expert opinion' regarding vintage boomboxes values. - $200 fully working M90s, $20 fully working RX-C45s? Let me know if you land some of these bargains and I'll reimburse you for what you paid!

Not locally. I already explained it, ebay worldwide selling visibility contribute to monster-pricing vintage material. Their real value are just a fraction of what new BT boomboxes sell for. Not only that, but vintage materials are often broken. tape deck failing, sound slowly failing or completely unpleasant due to aged capacitors or failing amplifiers. It's worth a passion but not worth money.

To those who want to make money collecting vintage boomboxes, keep your passion i'll keep my money, cause my money can buy better sounding unit.

But... I like those pannys. I do have a passion for vintage boxes :yes: as long as they cost me 20 bucks :lol:

Very few members make money on boomboxes around here as they keep most of them - I only buy cheapies too! My C45 cost me $27 fully working with local pick up - would I sell it? No way!!

The US is the place to sell boxes where C45s sell for $200 plus!

That's why you re-sell on Ebay. I have made a profit many times. Especially if it's a box I found locally, or a box that wasn't listed correctly.

I had to plan a bit for the delivery because Canada Post was threatening a lockout, it will be there next week or the week after.

...just because the rewind is slow you call it a faulty deck? A full speed rewind and a new knob will make it jump to $200, I don't think so. But the number one problem is how this one sound, buying on ebay is more expensive and vintage material are often sold as is with no return. Your C45 probalby sound 2 times better than the one on ebay. I guess otherwise you would not like it that much.

Fail! Recorded an outdoor distance sound test of the V5.0 on the weekend and after uploading to YouTube they've muted the sound for copyright purposes! :-(
