Using my boxes to promote Grandmaster Flash!

Hey y'all,
As some of you might remember I got to go to a Grandmaster Flash concert last year and he signed a portrait I did of him . But the story ain't over, it turns out he is coming to England AGAIN, and this time,
TO MY UNIVERSITY !
The same nightclub 15 min from where I live where I've gotten drunk will be home to one of the founding father's DJ set ! In two days, Amazing.
So I met a guy Alex last time who works at the student union, and thanks to him I found out early that GMF was coming. So naturally I asked to get in somehow, I offered all my boomboxes to promotional purposes etc . He bought it and told me if I walked around campus handing out flyers I'd get a free ticket and maybe a chance to meet The Grandmaster in person, HOLY ****! So that's what I've been doing frantically, employing my boxes in the service of holding the campus hostage with my volume knob. I've walked around 1-2 hrs for 4 days now, and I've handed out ca. 300 flyers .
Thought I'd share it here because the boxes always get a lot of attention, I was sneakily photographed and posted in a FB group with 10,000 members from my uni called "overheard" where ppl post funny things on campus . Of course I only blast old school gems like "I can't live without my radio", "Sucker MC's" and "Superappin".
Also you can see two official photos with me and some flyers.
I've brought out the Crown 850, ICS STR-5091, The Captain and today a new box I got recently... I won't tell you just yet what it is . Couldn't get my TRC-931 working unfortunately.

Sneaky picture got ca 130 likes on the page.

So in concusion it's a great success and I like to think I'm spreading the word of hip hop and boomboxes to all the non-believers :sin: as well as being infamous as "The boombox guy" .
I'll keep you update as to what happens on the actual concert!

I say, if you got 'em, use 'em!

You MUST take a big-arse Sharpie (permanent marker) with you to the show and get him to sign one of your boomers, and photograph him doing so! That boxs' value will go through the roof!

So the concert was two days ago.

No meeting or even remote closeness to the Grandmaster unfortunately.
Got there real early and chatted with people like the guy Alex who got me the promoting position. Then he entered the stage by total surprise and instantly like 100 people swarmed to the front like a dense paste. So I had to settle for the back. But I was alright with that, cause the front was crazy drunk, loud and just like a riot. His set was 60 min, but great. No message this time, but plenty good stuff. More university stuff, like temporary hip hop like Niggas in Paris etc. Then he got off and no extra number, Alex told me earlier there was no chance of meeting him as he was going to London the same night .
But I brought the 931 and several people complimented it, also had lots saying "aren't you the boombox guy ?" We took some professional pics with the 931, I'll post some when I get them.

So no the best day ever, but still pretty damn good !

I love seeing Hip-Hop culture embraced all over the world, from boomboxes to graffiti to breaking it's awesome!! Grandmaster Flash is one of the coolest most humble dudes you'll ever get to meet. The guy is 55 still touring and djing the world!! you gotta love that Love all the pics!! awesome job
