Let's say one of your grails became wildly popular amongst collectors. You are not in dire need of the cash. You will get at least 3x what you paid for it. But you are fairly certain you will regret letting it go, even if you make a few hundred dollars.

I have boxes that I would make maybe 16x what I paid and I still won't sell it because then I would have to be stressed out to find another one  .

Examples;

My M90. Even with these selling for almost $3,000, I won't sell it. Call it dumb, stupid, retarded, or whatever - I don't care :surf: .

Also, my Wheely I paid $15 for. Never in a million years would I let that go. I have 30 other boxes to sell before grails that I wouldn't be too upset over selling.

Or my 777H - these are just not boxes that you go and sell on a whim  .

:agree: Just trying to convince 'others' that regret is a bitch. Can't go back in time and undo what you've done.

:agree: - the regret outweighs the sale price most anytime.

PS, where the heck have you been lately? :hmmm:

I've already been there and don't want to go back. I sold about a dozen nice boxes a couple years ago because of some short term financial stress and still regret letting a couple of them go. :'-(

I myself would sell one of my kidneys before selling a grail...and most likely i would use the $$$ from my kidney to buy more grails  ...that's just how it is for me :breakdance:

I don't care much about money, or profits from selling boxes...i'd rather just have my boxes

One man's grail might be another man's regular radio (sometimes). So I might sell something others might say "Are you nutz?"

(C100's excluded :-P )

I gotta disagree...its in my nature I guess. :-O

Half the fun of this collecting madness is the hunt. When I find a 'Grail' (man I hate that term) its a killer feeling. But then it sits on the shelf with the others, or gets bounced around and listened too like the others. And round and round we go.

I love to listen to them and fix them up, but also enjoy the hunt. I'd prolly just sell it to try to find one to buy back cheaper :dunce: Regrets? Yep, I got lots

To quote Fran Drescher as Bobbi Fleckman in Spinal Tap "Money talks and b*llshit walks". haha, guess I'm a capitalist afterall.

I voted keep it.
I'm constantly getting ribbed from some members here about my buying and selling and trading boxes. :dunce:
That's fine :-P :sin:
There are quite a few boxes I've sold or traded that I regret selling and others including grails that I haven't regretted .
But I agree with Ira,I think if you are selling boxes or "Grails" to get another box you want, that is cool!
Doing this,I have helped a lot of members here get boxes they wanted badly including myself............ :surf: ..

For the record, my stance is, if you think you may regret doing it, then don't do it. ESPECIALLY if you don't HAVE to.

Hell no would I sell my M-90 she's not my original that I owned back in the 80's but theres too much history with me and the M-90.

These grails are from the past when were all teenagers and holds alot of our experiences during the 80's. Thats why I will never sell my M-90.

Been there. Sold my M90 that was bought for $120 a few years ago to pay rent. Oh god why :-P
Comparing it to the ones I see on ebay nowadays selling for so much, mine was in fantastic shape. I also got only about half - 1/3 what they go for now.
Ah well.
