Picked up a Trident CX-452F today for $40 off Gumtree. Very happy with it. Made in Japan and feels very solid. I believe this is an AKA for a Conion model, but i'm not sure which one.

This is the first Boombox i have acquired that actually has all functions operational. The sound is very nice, packing 10 Watts in total. One nice feature is that it has Mono, Stereo and Wide. I've never had the pleasure of Wide before, but it sure sounds big. Otherwise, it has Normal and Chrome Tape, a Mixing function, Sleep for the Radio, and AM, FM, SW 1 and SW 2. On the side it has Aux, Mic and Phones inputs. Has a nice VU meter and left and right Channel level LED's on the front.

The antenna was broken thought that was easy to fix by just taking off the back and slotting a new one in.

It does have a crack in the top and a few scratches and dings, but overall she has cleaned up very well. It's all character anyway. I especially like the roll bars next to the speakers at the front. Makes it look like it's ready for some serious outdoor booming.

And it takes 8 D batteries. And it measures: 51 cm W x 28cm H.

Here's some pics of her freshly detailed:

Nice pick up, was it from the bloke near highpoint?

It's hard to make out but are the tweeters multicell or are they just fancy ports?

Love the way the leds are split up, one set a side...and a meter to boot.

Great score, Jeremy, great score...looks like a tank :breakdance:

Thanks for all the positive replies. I'm really pleased with this boomer!

And tshorba, yes it was from the guy near Highpoint. I just happened to check Gumtree while at work and he'd just listed it. I called him up and bought it sight unseen. Risky, but it paid off this time.
Regarding the tweeters, to be honest, i'm not sure. My guess is fancy ports, but someone more knowledgeable than me might have the answer?

Thanks again. I'm happy to give this model a bit of coverage as there's not much out there on Trident Boomboxes.
