Ok my 2ND addition Lasonic TRC-931 just started doing this. When I move the selector knob from radio to tape, I get loads of static coming from the speakers for a few seconds then it goes away. It's even worse when the box is off, and the function knob is already set to "tape", and I push the power button, it sounds horrible. Its not the usual pop i've heard before, but all static. I'm hoping this is an easy Deoxit issue that can be fixed with a few quick bursts but I'm hoping someone can dial in and give me some pointers, I took a look inside, checked for loose connections or unsoldered wires but i didnt see any of that. So many wires though, looks like spaghetti thanks! I tried uploading a video but no luck :-( Thanks in advance for any ideas or resolutions, HELP!

I have a few boxes that do that. It's most likely a dried-up capacitor that takes a while to power up. I really doubt it's a switch DeOxit type of issue, but you can try.

Hmmm? OK maybe it's just something i've got to live with being that I dont know how that can be fixed, or where to even begin troubleshooting, thanks for the reply Reli

Well capacitors can be replaced, you just need to find the bad one (or just replace all of them, lol).

Ok thanks, but I'm kinda new to the game, and just learning about all this technical stuff, do you happen to have a pic of what the capacitors look like? Or will a quick google search show me what to look for? Im sure I have stared right at one, but not known what the heck it is Lol
