first off, i like perfect boxes. i would never mod something unless i have given up hope. this 931 has been in my house forever waiting for knobs, plastic, deck keys and more so i gave up. I traded a few other parts to Sin as part of a deal for another beautiful complete 931
(will post a pic of that someday) so this box was even more cosmetically challenged. but this box cranks and I couldn't stand it. hence the new bamboo woody. i ripped the deck keys from a wasted sr2000 and moded the deck so they are 100% functional. I never use anything but FM so forget that switch, just boarded it up in FM. I traded the radio pointer so boarded that up as well. just spin the dial and find whatever station i want, no problem. I ripped a set of killer kenwood knobs off a dead receiver. I have the flip switches also but need to mod a bit before it's done. just need a bamboo battery cover from ira...
now she gets some playing time instead of collecting dust. plus i can undue it no problem if i ever find some parts...
