Toshiba RT S953 Bombeat

Hey guys!!! It's been a while since I've written on the forum because I'm always on the Facebook app. But here I am with a new purchase. It's the Toshiba RT S953 Bombeat. I got her off of eBay. Seller sent her in a crappy box with only one layer of small bubble wrap. Then the worst part. Upon removing her from the box I heard something moving from within the main unit. I thought it was dead. So I didn't bother to power her up till I checked inside her. Found the ferrite bar came loose and I simply pushed it back into place. While apart I cleaned the front face of it and put her back together. She turned on and all was well with the radio. Tape deck is dead but all else is well. Cleaned the speakers up a bit. Wondering if they're the original tho. Lopez had one and I remember it having beige radiators. Anyway here it is in all her glory with her big brother.

But these passive radiators look pretty beige on my screen. That said, I'd like that even if it had bright heliotrope radiators with dayglo orange woofers and a contrasting turquoise cabinet.

Yep, beige, here's a picture of a similar box and the passive radiators appear to be the same colours in both:

Once I got an Aiwa CS660U from Canada wrapped in an old stinky cigarette smelling blanket.

But……...
It arrived in perfect condition.
That is a nice addition to your other Toshiba.

Well that's the issue I have with it. I don't think the speakers are the originals. The unit that Lopez had, had speakers like the bigger brother Wx-1's. It even had "Toshiba" written across the radiators. I'm gonna open this set of speakers up and see what's inside. I'll keep you posted guys.

that toshiba should have dual cone speakers with chrome whizzer cones . also should have the white plastic toshiba passive radiators . these radiators clean up really easily and i wonder why people don't just wipe them off lol.

Ok so this is what I found. Don't know if these belong in here but here they are. The screws don't even look like they belong in here. Anybody have any info on what should be in here? What wattage rating it should be? Ohms? HELP?!?
It's a new looking woofer in here and I don't think it's full range. It's highs aren't what it's bigger brothers are. Bass is there but you can tell it should be better. Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks.

That is a great sounding machine! I've had one and loved it...only parted with it because it is one of those dreaded 3-piecer which I chose to fully avoid simply because I do not have the space.
Your woofers are in fact not original. They should be white and with an extra cone around the dustcap like in the SK-909.
I guess the passives have been replaced as well. Pretty sure somebody did that because the original were rotten and needed refoaming. Maybe ask the seller if he still has them...worth a shot at least.

In that case is it not unusual that there are two of them with the same radiator/woofer colour combination as shewn above?

He's not talking about the one you posted (the WX1), he's talking about the smaller radio sitting on top of it.

That's what I thought, but it didn't explain the image posted in #9 showing these off-white radiators.

Not that I'd climb over either to get to an M90.

Ok so I've looked it up and this is what it's speakers are supposed to look like. If anybody has any parts for this please let me know. It looks great in its original form. Thanks for the compliments guys.

not sure if these kenwood speakers could be modded to fit but they would look awesome.

Does anybody know what ohms the stock speakers are? The ones on the Wx-1 are 6 ohms. The ones replaced in the 953 are 6 ohms as well. What should I do? Wish somebody had something on this radio.
