I found this pic recently and wish the helmet could talk, because whoever was wearing it really had a bad day

OUCH, Talk about a major uppercut to the face

My dad has several helmets from Iraqi soldiers he took out (some were younger than me ) And some have damage, but nowhere near as bad as this

Ouch! That looks like an old, German WW2 helmet. Although... I wonder if it could just be corroded.

German helmets are very thick, and made better than the american stuff. (Like everything Germany makes )

Even if it is corrosion, the guy had to die, or leave it in the field for a reason, IDK. I just wish that these old discarded things could talk, A good piece of history though Lot's of stuff can be learned when looking back. I just don't know how it would only corrode on the bill of it.

the whole german stuff is better than allies stuff is not always true. alot of it depends on when the stuff was manufactured . fatodog is right it could very well be corrosion.
alot of the german weaponry and equipment made when the germans were loosing the war was not made very well.
one must remember this. towards the end of the war once the germans had spread themselves way way way to thin and were loosing the battle alot of the things they made were garbage.
that helmet looks pretty used up from the looks of things. its all pitted and well i am kind of with bobby on that one.

From what I can gather, The Allies had the Germans outnumbered with men and equipment, but the Germans had the best made equipment,helmets were tailor made for soldiers heads etc., plus the tanks were indestructible,but you're rigjht, when the war started going south, quality did have to take a sideline

I have to be honest, I am somewhat partial to the Germans, Being that I am one

I recently got in an argument with an idiot who said BMW stood for British Motor Works, Being from Bavaria, I quickly snuffed back that it stood for Bavarian Motor Works. He was flabbergasted and thought I made up the place?!?!? :annoyed: That's ignorance for you.

I have met alot of Southern "Women" Some are very nice and infinitley hospitable and loving, but the majority in my unfortunate neck of the woods all live in trailers with "Wangstas with they hats toined sidewez" Most German women are respectful but some are just plain, well, Freaks
