Well I got a parts box for my Christmas present to myself and it was quite
dirty and well super bad dirty!
So I figured let's see what we cam fo to restore this before I strip it to the bone
like a fish as I need many parts for my Sharp GF-9494H.
It was hard work, cleaned up ok figuring the extreme neglect.
Had crap all over it,badly stained speakers, rusted grills and just plain
Miserable.
This was a truly neglected dirty box-miserable! How can people do this?
But with a Jimmy bath and severe scrubbing it is good in condition-as can be.
But the back and other parts and switch caps and what not cleaned up
nice!
I had it spart as I was getting parts from it and was cleaning internals
and I had sn avalanche of boxes parts and just junk in apple boxes fall
onto the right half of the internals and bend the switch caps on the bands
and they're all mesed up,no go on the radio now!!!
But it's a parts box so after wasting all the time cleaning it all up and
painting the speakers it truly is a parter now which is probably a good thing for me!
I now have the battery cover,tuner knob,fader knob,antennas(well mostly)
and cassette parts,all 8 screws,and AC inlet I needed for my 9494H!!
Yes it is dead but it's organs and extremities make others live!!!
:frankenstein:
There are speakers, meters, some switches and caps for sale and a beat up front,
nice top plate, dial plate is decent for sale.Very cheap.
Will post soon.
Just happy that the death of the poor Boombox wasn't abterrible, horrible loss!
