The power of a boombox...a love story

So my neighbor sent me a text this morning and reminded me that it was one year ago today that he cooked a romantic candlelit dinner for his girlfriend.

I had to help him get everything ready, dinner included. And hearing that they were eating outdoors, the FD decided that they needed some ambiance. He quickly created a playlist of romantic songs on the ipod. We sat the bbx on our back patio, plugged in the ipo, pointed it in their direction, and cranked it up.

They were married March 31st.

And to this day, he admits that his neighbors helped set the mood for the evening, and what turned into the first "I love you" that he said to her.

:smooch: :smooch: :smooch: :smooch:

So :hmmm: has a boombox had a similar effect on any of you guys?

The Mrs. forgot to mention that it was the JVC RC-M70C. No one can resist Johnny Mathis (vintage), Johnny Hartman, David 'Fathead' Newman, Barney Kessel, and Ellis Marsalis.

The closest I have is one night a few years ago, I set up the house for when my wife came home from work....

I already had the BBQ going, prepared a salad, marinaded some T-Bones and wrapped corn on the cob in tin foil with some spices and butter in there...

When she came home, I was right in the middle of filling up our Jacuzzi tub and sent her in there to relax.

While she was soaking I quickly threw the steaks on with the corn, set the table for two with candles and all.

I set up the Lasonic TRC-920 in the living room with a few hours worth of classical music.

When she came out, the lights were low, the candles burning, the music flowing and the fireplace glowing.

It was a very nice evening for sure and the 920's full warm sound delivered the classical music beautifully.

Chris, you old romantic, you! :-)

 Well, it's every husbands duty to make his wife feel special. Even if you can't do it often, from time to time is still good

AND....if you can work a blaster in...all the better! :-D

You do realize that it will cost a lot of money to have Chris fly here and cook, right? :-P
