The Postman Always Rings Twice!

Well, part 2 of my annual grail buy arrived today. I had some money left over after the purchase of my M70 from Tiko, so I went to e-pay and, low and behold if there wasn't a box for sale that I had drooled over when it was first advertised here on Boomboxery. I made a "best offer" and stynger007 accepted. I wasn't quite sure what the sound would be like, but after searching the archives and reading members opinions of the Prosonic brand I was optimistic to say the least. So here she is...

She could use a bath, but after a Full Patron everything will shine. The sound, though, is very beefy. Marginally better than my re-woofered GF-777, but not in the same league as an RX-CS780. What convinced me to go for it, though, was stynger007's assertion that the deck had been "Seller Refurbished," i.e. new belts, etc. And boy howdy does that deck purr like a kitten.

I know some of you have this boomer, but here's a size comparo just the same. This is it next to my M70...

Well that's it for this year. Can't wait for next year but that's 365 years to dream!

This Prosonic and the 9962 are massively high on my neeeeds list. They always get superb reviews for sound, as you said Kenpat.

They sure do look the goods... really hot radio.

Both this and your M70 are well worthy collection additions! And if I had to choose only two to add to my collection in a year
these would both be high on my choices too! (If I didn't have an M70 already that is!)

Believe it. At times, the highs can be a little TOO crispy and the bass can push the rest of the music to the background, but I'll listen to my Prosonic or Trident over my Toyota ANYDAY... The bass is better controlled and deeper + the highs are better... The only things the 777 series Sharps have over the Prosonic is slightly higher build quality and much more power.

I've NEVER seen one with a fully working deck for sale on eBay.

Feelin' better every day about this pickup. Mono nailed the soundstage and quality to a "T," naturally. VERY well balanced sound, imo. And if the highs get TOO crispy, it has a seperate High Filter switch.

Feelin good about that re-conditioned tape deck, not just "working" but ready for years of action. BIG props to stynger007 for that. I couldn't have gotten deals like these from anyone but other members.
