I Am Legend
its been a very cool trip for boomboxery --
that lately --new aussies have been joining up here at an alarming rate

in fact --there are way more than enough --
for them to recede in mass exodus --
and start up their very own site !!! :nonono: :-)

fortunately -
they are all hapless & incompetent-- :-P :-P
so we expect they will be sticking around  :breakdance:

Maybe finally the prices will rise over there, so they won't be able to score such good deals anymore :-P  j/k

Us Aussies seem to be everywhere....and there's only 23 odd million of us. US has maybe 320 mil?

I've noticed a lot more Aussies too. Not many from around my way though......
There must be few collectors nearby coz wild finds are few and far between

Hey, prices are certainly rising around here. A fully operational Sanyo 9994K went for the dizzy heights of $76 on Epay the other day.

James.... :-)
Dang! That would have easily gone for triple or even quadruple that price over here. :-/

That one was in crappy shape, lol.
Plus the seller's word was very suspect. Fully operational? Doubt it.
Even in the US I doubt it would have sold for more than $150.
Of course, if it was in great shape and the seller wrote a real description instead of that weak-ass paragraph, it would have scored $300-500

volume crackles a little when u move it but sound is clear.

I didn't buy it as I have another rough shape 9994K sitting in front of me.

"all works well".......doubt it
Usually there will be a problem with Stereo reception, or with the balance between left & right, or maybe the surrounds will be rotted.
Very rarely have I received a box that was as good as described, even from forum members

I tend to agree that boxes are never as good as they are described. Pretty much every Ebay box I have received has been a disappointment in some way. One guy sold me a Hitachi boombox that 'played well with all functions working perfectly'. The unit arrived with every control non-operational except the power button. The tape deck belts were goo too!! He gave me a 80% refund which didn't come close to the cost of rebelting!!

My recent local non-ebay finds where I could try before I bought have been my best finds to date and no shipping costs!!

I do have very nice Hitachi TRK-8080W on it's way from a US member at the moment I have high hopes for though!! Looking forward to receiving this one!!
