Technics making a comeback!

YES!

They are coming out with a new and improved Technics. This thing has no plastic well maybe the dust cover, but the price is freakin' crazy $4000. This was built from scratch whole lot of new parts and metallics. Now for the DJ there is mention of a cheaper 1200 lets see how and what are the components for that one will be.

The DJ should be credited because if it weren't for them Technics would have been just another high end turntable in some hi-fi shop.

So it's only fair that they come out with a new and improved 1200 for the DJs

It sucks that the price is soooo ridiculous, but I guess this Turntable has all the bells and whistle that a true audio connoisseur would know.

i had heard that the first run of 300 of the limited edition version sold out in half hr in Japan about a month or so ago. thought i heard were about $3300usd. think the normal version are meant to be around $2000. lucky i have 4 1200mk2 so i dont need to buy any more

You're absolutely right on the Japan event being sold out within a half hour and on the price I did see that amount also from some other link who knows what is the actual price?

I guess when it hit the stores we shall know, but these are beautiful work of art. I can't wait to see one in person.

For what I've seen in this world of today's Digital equipment it fails more often than analog whether at home, concert or club. I believe keeping it simple is more reliable.

I had a feeling about this, seems like the DJ community have been giving their opinion about the Technics company.

Like I said on my first post the DJs put the 1200s on the map and the company is catering to a certain class.
