For any Rhymesayers (Atmosphere, Brother Ali, POS, etc) fans out there, SoundSet is the annual Minnesota concert featuring the majority of Rhymesayers artists each year, and then some more classic 'National' acts like Dialated People, Redman/MethodMan, Heiro, etc. So this hand screened poster was done for the show. Not only is a great design for a poster, it's also a cutout that with a little cutting/folding/pasting you can make your own boombox from, batteries ARE included.

Not sure what box the artwork is based off of, but if I had that box, I'd love the poster even more. I have 2 of the posters, one framed, and one cutout and glued into the actual boombox.

Rhymesayers does everything right. If you haven't heard of them and like independent hip hop, vinyl, street art, and all things related, check em out for sure.

Well I just called the store and they say they actually still have some in stock. Some reason I can't find them on their website though. They said they are only $5+tax which is great as they are the nice thick paperboard like material with the hand screening that you can feel the texture of. If you want I can pick one up and ship it to ya. Not sure what the cost of the poster packaging is (i might have an extra in my basement if I check), and of course shipping costs if you are in Austria or wherever else. Either way, I'd do it for ya if you just cover what it costs me once you get it. Of course I'd verify all that up front so you know, but I wouldn't think it'd be too bad. Of course, you might be like me and want 2 of them, one to frame as a poster and another to cut and make into a box. Shouldn't change the shipping costs to have a 2nd so what's $5 more. I'm not looking to make any money, just sharing some of the great stuff that the local crew does. Tell me what you're thinking.

And yes, the store also carries 'The Boombox Project' book, that I just picked up last week. And check out the music if you like some underground hip hop with some real substance to lyrics. Atmosphere and Brother Ali would be a good start.
