Not possible as the plastic will shrink and distort. I would go back to the PCB and solder on there.

Use jumper thin wires for connections. Home telephone wires can be used. If you open the sleeve it will have like 6 thin insulated wires.

Now , trace the end leads to solder joints, and connect to places where there are no connections or minimum connections, taking care not to over heat components at the solder junction.

There's also a special soldering tip for ribbon cables that basically solders all the connections at once.

Ok guys as you can see from the ribbon which is actually called flexible kapton pcb
There is no way i can solder....

So the challenge is to undermount these little tactile switches flush with the top of the control panel and hardwire them onto the main
pcb where the multiway push in socket was (im gonna remove it)

Ill put a plug and socket in the middle for easy removal

Iv done a mockup control panel so i know where to make the holes in the plastic

Won’t those tactile switches be too thick since the original pcb is paper thin? Or are you thinking to recess the switches into the plastic?

yeah ill recess the switches beneath the plastic....i have some more tactiles coming with a longer switch stem so they should just poke through the plastic
