I've got a Sony CFS-W305 almost brought back to life 100%. I noticed that there is no azimuth screws near the heads. Doesn't this unit have azimuth adjustments?
Another odd issue is that this unit either has an auto stop problem, or it doesn't have an auto stop feature at all. When in Play or RW/FF mode the end of a tape doesn't trigger a stop. It keeps pressure on the tape and you have to manually stop it. There's nothing in the manual about an auto stop feature either. This would be the first time I ever run into a unit that doesn't have that feature.
Finally I changed the long belt that goes from the B deck to the A deck and there's a weird fluctuating pitch issue. This new belt is probably just not quite the right size. Gonna have to find a source.
This is my first time restoring a boombox. Almost completed. Appreciate any help!
