Dead but not entirely for the Walkman it will still be manufactured in China for U.S. & Europe.

I think Sony, as a brand, is slowly dying. :'-( First, the news of a possible buy-out by Apple and now this.

Over the years I've seen a lot of bad customer support from Sony leaving many very dissatisfied customers but they still keep plugging along at the top. They seem so resilient I'm not so sure I'd write them off just yet but we'll see.

it is sad but remember this has been happening in just about everything so i am not surprized at apple buying out sony ,, i belive if i am not mistaken correct me if i am wrong sanyo bought out aiwa a long time ago and just about every company had had there share of mergers to be able to cope with the big lost of billions of dollars...
