Upon further reading this thread, it's all like boomboxy and stuff. I cannot play along. I don't even get why those pics are stupid. Well except for when the FD pointed out the tiny speakers behind the facade.

Here's one of my favorites: the hideous, little Electrobrand 7422. From a distance, it looks like it could be a radio/CD player.

But, wait! The sticker is right. That's no CD player behind the round door...

So, there you have it. Hideous AND a fraud!!

Honestly, the only reason that Electrobrand is still in my collection is because, after I bought it, I put it away and forgot about it. Still... this category makes me glad (in a weird sort of way) that I still own it. A perfect fit, I think, for "stupid things." Lesson learned: never get rid of anything!

Don't know what it is..........All I know is, finding a replacement will be difficult, due to the specific shape of the cut-out in the plastic.....see here.......

I'm still DIBIN on it. They make after market speakers in that size. Pioneer has a nice set with a tweeter in it that would sound fabulous in there!!

VU meters that don't go up or down with the volume knob

I like meters that dance no matter how loud you've got it cranked. Some meters max out and don't dance anymore if you crank it up

The meters on an Aiwa TPR or a Panasonic RX are true VU meters that keep dancing no matter what the volume knob is set at

But the ones on a Rising 20/20 are fake, because they depend on the volume knob.
