I have been talking with a man who has a Sharp VZ-2000 that he owned since it was new. Recently he had it serviced. All the belts and the needles were replaced. Plus it was cleaned inside. It is in very nice shape and I am trying to get him to sell it.

However the shipping screws are missing. This is a concern in shipping. Does anyone have or know where I can get two shipping screws?

Also he is about 7 hrs away from me. He may be willing to meet me halfway. Would you guys suggest I pick it up in person or risk shipping.

Thank you

Are these the spring type mounting plates that sit underneath that you refer to ?
I don't have any spare but just so other people know what you mean.

I think these are screws that lock the turntable in place so it doesn't move around during shipping, I vaguley remember someone posting a picture of them a while back.

I wouldn't worry too much about them though, as most VZ are shipped successfully without them in place.

IF however, it's in brand new, serviced, original owner condition then I'd be travelling all the way there to pick it up.

Good luck, PRG333! Hope you get it all sorted!

They aren't the bottom ones for the footings, but I think there are 2 and come in from the back to lock the turntable mechanism in place for shipping. I've got them from 2 of my 2000s, and mainly if I just spent money to get it all fixed up would I want to have them in for shipping. I can take pics and/or measure if you want. I'd think you could at least find a bolt/washer combo that'd fit right. And make sure you have the right holes before you start screwing in, as there are some 'fake' holes that look where they'd go. You could get em all jammed in there.

If you are really having a tricky time, I could even lend you some of mine till you get the box home. I'd imagine shipping a few little parts back and forth wouldn't cost more than a couple bucks.

As with the size of that monster I would drive a day to pick up.. Never trust shipping if you don't have to

Thank you for all the good advise!

I think I will meet him halfway. This box is more fragile and has more things that can break or be damaged. Lots of plastic. Not as well made as a JVC RC-M70. It also can't match the sound of a M70 IMO
He may not want to part with it and wants to take some time to think about selling(lots of sentimental value) it. He wants $500.00 Still a lot to pay, but hard to get one that is in good working and cosmetic condition Not as much as it goes for on Ebay. I saw a one owner one that was NM with paperwork go for $2400.00 CRAZY.

So I hope I can get it! Wish me luck!
