I've talked with a guy who sells one. The problem is in fact that bottom of the turntable door don't get in right position when closed (they stick out at the bottom). I've never seen one in person, and I wonder if some of you guys can tell me what could be the problem and is it fixable? Is it plastic or metal door mechanism... whatever is holding the lower part of the door?

BTW, anyone with link or info about music power (W) of this exact model? Couldn't find it on radiomuseum page.

Thanks in advance!

It has two cups on the bottom off the door section that sit on top of two springs in the casing. If they're not sitting right then the door will not be flush like this. So I don't think it's a problem at all. Whip the turntable out and reposition it and it'll be fine :)

"Music power" is around 11 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms, real (RMS) Watts per channel are the same as many other Sharps of the period that shared its A/F chip, that's 7 Watts. Speakers are rated at 91db/W at a metre.

That is correct! Bottom mounting can be easily fixed!

Yoy should buy one of these anyway. In whatever shape they are.
I am almost shure the turntable door will be an easy fix
So go and get it :vespa:

Thank you all for helpful replies. Now I'm convinced that doors aren't broken, but simply displaced/fallen out.

I guess it is worth 15 euros :-D

Will let you know when I pick it up in a day or two.

15 euros?!?!...I thought mine was cheap at £30 but 15 euros is one hell of a bargain...you could sell the intact sliders for more than that! :)

Well, not really one hell of a bargain, I'll have to invest an euro or two in new used antenna

What is really fascinating, is that I've seen that online ad from 2011, called it last year, but the number was discontinued. The price was 20 euros. By pure coincidence, as I was checking completely different ads several days ago, I recognized the same photo in ad from April 2013. with price lowered to 15 euros. Apparently no one noticed, since it is in not that much known online ads.

Well 20 euros is clearly way too expensive lol! :)

Looking forward to seeing pics when you pick it up. I love putting a bit of vinyl on mine and watching it spin...sadly the 45 speed has gone a bit off speed for some reason, 33 is perfect so I'm sticking to albums.

Can't wait to show it to my nephew who is same age as this SHARP. He ditched the car, and rides bike or walks for health's sake. Imagine his face when I hand him over that 17.5kg heavy mobile gym

I walk the 3 miles round trip to work every day but I won't be carrying this monster!...I'd keel over before I reached the end of the drive :)

Got it today!

I'm still at shock because of size and weight!

Doors were indeed just come off springs, easy fix.

Truntable belt is melted,

Two sliders on top control panel are missing, as well as the power button (it powered directly).

I'll have to check it out some more before deciding will I go into finding parts and fixing all that is missing or not.

Power button is probably inside, they often drop in because of the slightly weak design. If you use that strip down guide closely its relatively easy to pull apart...and yes, it's massive and hugely heavy :)

I also hope to find power button inside. I've already found one missing slider in the tape mechanism!

Today I've cleaned it from the outside, and tomorrow I'll do the stripping in order to look for last remaining slider and hopefully the power switch.

I'm impressed with quailty of the sound. There is not a bit of his or any other noise on FM stereo stations. It's pure and clean.

BTW, any tips about polishing plexi cover on turntable?
