I checked these out in the store and they seemed decent.

What other boxes do you have to compare it to?

Do you have an M70, M90 or Disco Robo? Which is louder?

Looks like a kaboom competitor. At one time, I could not accept the looks of the kaboom but it eventually grew on me and the bass hooked me. But this........ I dunno. I'd looks like a painted catalytic converter. Eh... Don't know if I'm ready for that just yet.

lets see.. i have owned all the JVC Kaboom models.. at least 12 of them at one point.. i also own 6 TDK Life on Record boomboxes.. 2 of each model :-D was the proud owner of the rare Sharp GX-88Z as far as the classics.. JVC M70.. Fisher PH490/92.. Sharp WF-939Z .. Sharp HK9000 bunch of different Sony FH series.. JVC MD5.. Panny RX-C100.. and waaay to many more to name.. waaay to many lol.. none of the "grails" i'm more into the rare and oddity boomers.. like my newly aquired Sharp CD-X15X.. more on that one later..

Super.. like the Kaboom.. this one will hook you in with the bass too.. i agree the looks are alot different than the classics.. it's all about the sound.. and this one has it! lets face it.. we all knew boomers would evolve like everything else.. i choose to embrace it.. i still love the classics.. but i also love technology.. win/win for me..

Hi TMR,don't get me wrong-I love Sharps,but I have to face it-I'm
old school so I just can't get myself to liking the looks of this.
I do own the NVB-1 Kaboom and it's downright scary! :-O :w00t:
The bass will knock you down,I believe it's one of the best Kabooms!! :-)

Let's hear a review and let us know what it compares to. :-)

Hey I'm with TMR on this one. Sometimes ya gotta get with the times. I'm a SHARP guy and this looks good to me. I have yet to hear any Kabooms but I own 2 and neither of them work. :-/ congrats on the purchase it looks cool to me. Can't wait to hear one in person and hopefully get one in a color of black. Even the blue was nice. I'm liking the volume controls on the back of the unit. Wonder if it sounds louder than my TDK 3 Sspeaker? :hmmm:

Checked out the review, but still wondering if this is louder than say a WF-939 or Conion C100? Kabooms aren't that loud...

Don't know the wattage rating of the 939 but the Conion belts out 22.5 watts per channel. The subwoofers alone he stated where 33 watts each on the Sharp!! Plus the highs are a different story. That's got tuned ported bass ports for each woofer. This thing was engineered for sound. Boombox speakers are free air speakers and truly can't compete with this boomer. Different class of audio equipment. Like putting a Mustang Cobra (656 horsepower) up against a Honda Civic (170 bhp). Both great cars just in a different way and class.

funny thing is i had the preset EQ on ROCK.. then i discovered the extra bass button.. wow.. room thumping sound even at lower volume.. starting to make the mighty Kaboom shake in it's boots!

Wills15 the Sharp WF-939Z and HK9000 have more of a in your face kinda sound.. the GX-M10 has the bass in spades.. vocals are great too.. much better then the JVC Kaboom..

oh and the remote is very accurate.. very happy with this addition to my modern collection..

and as far as the TDK 3 speaker boombox.. it has the bass.. no doubt.. but the Sharp has the bass even at low volumes.. to get the same lvl of bass from the TDK you need to push the volume past the half way mark.. (still love the TDK too)

I LOVE EM ALL!

Looks good. Im watching to snag one someday But will try my luck with used one for cheaper. I agree with the evolving prat. Deffo cool to have new boomers too. Love all my boomblasters ( i refuse to use the US name kaboom for them  ) and always watching for next snag. the good thing with the new boomers is that a lot of people which dont really need em buying and selling fast afterwards
The blinking woofers making big + for me on this one. The only problem is that im big "i"hater
Congrats.

I agree. If I'd buy a newer boombox, I'd either buy a cassette boomblaster, the TDK boombox or a Lasonic BT. I'm happy Lasonic moved on from those docking stations.

it does take batteries.. 10 "D" cells.. i'm not a fan of Apple either.. but it does take USB and thats all i need to enjoy my music.. probably will never use the CD player.. CD's are now this decades cassette.. i will never use either anymore.. flash memory is definitely the way to go nowadays.. all my music on a flash drive no bigger than my thumbnail.. gotta love technology!
