Vintage Moscow just relisted one of these hand finished beauties on eBay for a whopping 7 grand. What's interesting is the English text applied to the finish. Here's a translation of the item description.

Made by design art studio 40 devices. Original sharp GF 919 receivers are used and completely redone in red / gold style. All receivers have a personal number.

cases are varnished. all buttons, handles are covered with 24 k gold, 999 samples. Internal inscriptions are made with copy protection. The speakers are covered with white special composition (kept secret). Prevention of viscera with the replacement of all rubber bands and Pasik. new heads. made protective covers.

The radio is very beautiful. perfect in collection or for gift.

Wasn't there another post about this on Ebay... someone bought it. I do really like the look of it and the case that comes with it... if I was super rich and had money to burn... sure why not 😆😆


Hope the models DONT come with it..

It’s nice, someone put a lot of work in it. But, I dunno, somehow along the way of the conversion, it’s lost it’s classic looks. As for the price, if regular Boomboxes from Russia/Ukraine on eBay are already that price, at least there’s a reason for the price on this one.

I really like that Lamborghini one though.

I can appreciate all the craftsmanship that went into it and I really want to like it.... but that thing is drowned in paint. The paint in the lower corners of the woofer housing is really gooey. As I mentioned in a different thread, the speakers must sound like $hit below all that paint. But I want to like it...

Btw: the maroon handle and speaker grills look a little off imho...

Yeah,I agree with Floyd. Shoulda kept the speakers black. Everything else looks great! True- alotta work went into it,and I can truly appreciate that aspect. Seven grand,I dunno about that. That truly is a blaster pimp model.😄😄😄

There are purists who would never accept anything not original, and something like this would not be marketed or likely sold to that audience. I for one have no problem with painting a boombox red and would pay more for this specific example than an unrestored original. But I'm not going to pay $7k for it, even if I somehow magically discover that much dough in my hands, all at the same time.

I'm sorry but blasting something with some paint and attaching 'special edition' stickers all over it, doesn't make it a 'special edition', its a re-painted box that probably had plenty of life in it as it was. Personally, this is done way ott and I wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole
