That's one of those highly collectible models. I'm sure that the sound quality falls short of 3-bills, but hey, if it fills a hole in your collection, you just love it and have to have it, and love rare stuff -- go for it. However whether or not it's worth the price to you depends upon how imporant those factors just mentioned are to you personally.

Kijiji has a very small audience. Over here, you can count the number of listings on a couple hands (and maybe feet) digits. Boombox listing results = 0. In other words, hardly anybody here in USA will waste the keystrokes to visit kijiji unless you are looking for pets. Selling something in a venue with little audience means low response and it's not suprising it sat there for months. Truth be told, I see something on eBay, I often bid what it takes to get it, but when I see the same exact thing on CL, somehow, I'm not motivated to spend nearly as much.

I saw one sell on eBay sometime back and I recall it sold for a decent price, although admittedly, I don't recall exact price. If the guy wants worldwide collecting type of value, he needs to eBay it. Doubtful if kijiji or CL will net the max on a niche item such as that.

In any event, why even dwell on it? If you think something is not worth it to you, don't buy it and move on. I've paid far more for certain things than anyone else would pay simply because it was something I wanted, badly. On the other hand, I've also seen things that end up in a bidding frenzy and at no time was I even motivated to even bid the minimum.

I frequent this place quite often Robb, as I don't live too far away from it. Their prices for EVERYTHING in that store are WAY OUT to lunch. That said, they will bargain, but the price has been inflated to compensate for it.

Check out their PS3 games for example. Most of those games can been purchased at EB games WITH a guarantee for way less.

Like Norm said though, don't sweat it. If you want it, grab or save the coin for the next hidden gem

I know the shop, been there too many times. Last time I went in to sell something, they made me an offer, we agreed, then they backed out. I told the guy hes a fuking idiot (in front of everyone he works with) and learn how to do business... and I left the electronics there... (I got it for free anyways)
Never went back in 2+ years !

Police caught the guys in 2013

It's a shame that the guy got shot, but at least they caught the guys who did it.

I, like you have veered away from Swap Shop because of their stratospheric prices. I'll wander through when renewing my drivers license (MTO in the plaza) but my wallet stays in the pocket. I just want to shake my head at the prices. Shaking my head counts as cardio exercise after my heart attack
