I realise that new regulations on these forums state that members can only link eBay auctions that are their own, but I really do need to post this. I've found this one on eBay UK and it has an extra light and an LED meter. Here is the link to the auction.

Looks very odd to me.

Especially the round LED's, seem to look really jarring compared the regular rectangular ones.

Hopefully someone's got an explanation, or even better someone here won her!

Rock On.

I notice in all the pictures that there are only three LEDs lighted. I wonder if they are for VU or for tuning? It's definitely a custom mod.

Well, if it's custom, it looks to be done very well. Hard to make cut outs in aluminum (or any material for that matter) that is clean and sharp and straight. Then again, seller says it's a GF-777 (e)

This neither has the blue or silver grey background-it's like green or close to it!!
This could be rare & if it's modded it's almost to good!
I wish I could see the emblem.
Could this be the long lost 777 grail!!
Have a super 4th. weekend-GB. :-) :-O    :w00t: :choco: :breakdance: :hmmm: :surf: :sin:

Hi peoples.

I have a GF-777e.

Yep, not the usual more-well-known, heard of, talked and typed-about GF-777z.

Sorry to kill off the hopes of this being " the long-lost Grail GF-777" but that's a home-made modification.

I think, the difference between the Z and E prefixes, are the radio bands, and the fact that the tuner background on the E is silver, the Z is blue ( like a '767 )

I believe, that there may also be, out there somewhere, a GF-777 with a 'H' prefix! (Maybe Jens can verify this)

My GF-777e has FM, MW, LW, SW.

The GF-777z has FM, MW, SW1, SW2 ( I think )

Mystery Solved.

Yes, there exists a "h" model. It has a gray - charcoal colored dial.

But what about that extra LED between the APLD system and the meter? That looks original with it's little label, but 'normal' GF-777s don't have it.

No other GF-777's I've seen have this LED. What is it?

I think that's custom too to be honest. The description never mentioned anything about it at all, neither about the missing bars etc. so my guess is they are both mods.

Yes, I think that the little green LEDS are an add-on modification, as is the lone red one.

The three above theband selector are standard factory ones though.
