Hey guys I got myself a sharp gf 777 recenty but have been having a few problems.
Firstly, the tape 2 deck sounds very muffled and slightly slow, the tape 1 is fine

Secondly, the SW and AM bands ust dont work, I cant get any sound out of them, even static??!

Could anyone shine some light on how to go about these problems, in particular the tape deck? It is a fantastic box, and a shame because I bought it under the impression it was perfect!!

By the way, is it just me or do the "seperate" subwoofers sound rubbish when you turn them up??

Regards

Muffled tape sounds like it needs some head cleaning. Either go for it with a conventional cleaning cassette or try it really carefully with a Q-tip.
In case that does not work (which happened to me) the head needs adjustment. You can do that through the tiny hole under the cassette door.
Play a tape you can sacrifice but of which you know it has heights and try it with a tiny screw driver until the sound is good for you.
I recently did that to my GF777 and it helped

There are tow issues with the 777 sound:
1. very few heights only which makes it sound quite muffled in the first place. It is okay when you turn up the heights to full.
2. Careful operation of the Super Woofers is advised because they start to distort easily when they are turned up. Rather use the bass control knob ;-) .

Enjoy your GF777 - it is an awesome box and one of my total favorites  :breakdance:

thanks a ton man!! That really helped. In regards to the "heights" I think you are referring to highs? as in lots of treble? Also adjusting the tiny screws wont damage the box in anyway will it?
