Picked this Sharp piece of audio art up locally today. Fully complete and in good condition, all working minus the usual tape deck belts......and the TV seems to be stuck on analogue blizzard of course.

Real heavy with a well built feel as you'd expect from a relic of this era. Sounds really nice too!

Even though it's quite tidy I'll give it the usual bath/polish and might throw up a few clean pics :)

Interesting! Sharp 5P-37X... another version I haven't seen before. I've got a 5P-37G which looks similar except for the Trimate 5000 branding. There's a silver version, too, the 5P-37E.

Could the E have been the PAL version with a UK, RoI & Hong Kong UHF TV tuner? The only one I've ever seen was at the NEC Vintage Communications Fair a couple of years ago and the TV on that was being demonstrated from a DTT box playing straight into the aerial input, with no demodulator being required so must have been a PAL one, it was silver.

Silver would look pretty nice!

Must have a quality tv tuner......analogue signal is long gone in Australia but it can pick up some asian sounding broadcasts coming from somewhere obviously a long way north (audio only and a slight change in snow). Well built and a very handy tool to have post zombie apocalypse.

I picked up a Sharp Trimate 5000 a few weeks ago and it also needs new cassette belts.

Do you know the part numbers or size of the belts?

Anyone have a service manual?
