I have to come clean and say that one of the very first shows I ever played at a "Real" venue something similar to this happened to me.

Then venue in their ultimate wisdom thought it would be a smart idea to pay the band in beer! Not a bad gig for us, but the mistake lay in the fact that they paid us FIRST! I had about 10 Heineken before going on stage and once I started rockin' and the blood started pumping the alcohol to my head, I took a header straight into the drum kit taking out all the cymbal stands with me...SET OVER!

We were thrown out!

Still got the free beer though
