I'm having problems with my cassette which is sending a loud hum even when there is no tape playing. Any one know how to fix?

Could be anything fom a loose ground in the mainboard to a loose connection at the head of the deck. Guessing by your question you aren't a tech wizard (no offense) and would need to get the unit to someone who is proficient with electronics. If you're comforatble with tinkering, well, it's only $15 right?

I don't know where your located but I can tell you, if it goes to a professional you'll spend far more than it's worth. Not trying to be a downer, just being real.

Yeah I might have a look. Radio and CD work fine, so most likely the head.
