It would be better for the aesthetic if the dust caps were chrome.
Strange , JDM boxes are usually better than the gear we have here.
One should try to get a donor 9994 to put the speakers in the 965
Looks good standard anyway

I've heard claims that chrome dustcaps stiffen the cones enough to improve midrange frequencies but decrease low bass. I remember someone made that claim about the M9998 vs M9998K

When Sharp went from GF-9191 to 9292 the visual was dramatic. Mainly because of the dust caps and surrounds. I think the 965 could look better with the chrome.
Unlikely to find a scrap 9994 however.

They're the original woofers?
Are they white?
White or not, they look odd without the chrome caps to match the tweeters.
Personally I like the darker 9994, it sets the trim off more.

There are a couple of 9994s on ebay for relatively decent prices.
