Hello Guys! I’m restoring a rather nice looking Panasonic RX-C53L. Right from the start, a somewhat simple problem arose that seem difficult to resolve.

The toothed ribbon that moves the tuner dial indicator is broken. The material seem to be nylon which has a reputation to not be gluable. Part number is RDE-159Z but I haven’t been able to find any source for this kind of spare part.

How would you repair this? I was thinking a strip of aggressive tape on the backside may work. Do replacements exist?

Greetings

I've repaired one of these before by using a thin cable tie glued across the top smooth section to hold it together.
I used the double epoxy type glue not superglue.

Annoyingly i have exactly the same issue but i tried to glue mine and it made a connection but its to rough to run through the cog

You could get a new one printed
MJF printing allows for very flexible parts if it's thin enough, I'm thinking this one might have a chance.
