Retro blasting at work

We have been told we are allowd to listen radios at work for the Christmas week.

This does not happen often so it was a big decision which box to bring in. It had to sound good, be big, and have "the look".

I settled on this :-D

The 20 20 has been blasting great for the last couple of days and every body whos seen it has been blown away by its looks and sound.

Incidently a guy in the department next door has been blasting this little Grundig. ive never taken much notice of these kind of radios before but this one looks great and is surprisingly loud. Nice.

Nice one...great when you get to show a box off especially when its a cracker like this one :)

I always have a box at work but can only have it on quiet...like having it there tho

I've never really thought of a Concert Boy as "little" before, but maybe it is alongside the boombox you brought! If I couldn't have radio in work, I'd find another way to spend the time and have actually done so before now! :lol:

Just a guess but are you doing something with aircraft engines at your work, IAP?

Yes i do John, in the shipping dept. If you ever get a radio from me, it will be packed very, very well :yes:

Is that the model name of that Grundig, a Concert Boy? i actually quite like it and may have to look out for one.

I was wrong! :blush: I have that model under the bed in both the fake wood and the brushed aluminium finish and was so sure they were Concert Boys but on looking at one of mine, it's actually a Melody Boy 1000!
I also found my Concert Boy under there and the main difference with that is that the Concert Boy of the same period has its tuning dial at the right hand end of the cabinet, vertically down the front.
There's also a stereo version of the Concert Boy which makes an awesome sound but that one at your work is a Melody Boy and a very fine thing they are as well.

You poor chaps can't have blasters at work?!

I often have 2 hooked up streaming internet radio at 1 time! I've had 2 Wheely's hooked up rockn tunes in my office!

The boss is pretty cool here and I get along well with the other 2 people that share this office space. We can all jam together and mix it up throughout the week ;)
