Resistor Color De-Coding

While working with member Howie on a project, we needed to decode the line information on a resistor in order to purchase a replacement.

I found this website: Resistor Color Code Calculator
Type in your color codes and it spits out the ohm levels.

There is an easy way to remember this....
This is how I was taught.

B B R O Y Great Britain Very Good Wife (just remember this starting with Black)

Hold it with Gold or Silver band on the right side.
then...
1st digit = number
2nd digit= number
3rd digit = number of zeroes
gives the resistance in ohms

Bad (Black) / Boys (Brown) / Reaming (Red) / Old (Orange) & Young (Yellow) / Girls (Green) / Behind (Blue) / Victory (Violet) / Garden (Gray) / Walls (White)
