Hey guys,

Any one ever find/come across a good adaptable motor to replace a dead/dieing original motor for the tape mech from a JVC RCM 90.

The motor has no more strength to get the heads in the up and working position...!!!

Belts have been changed, all is clean... no dust or hairs or crap of any kind on the diffident wheels and the flywheel ...

If anyone got info on where to get a motor, do let us know!

Later,
Thanks

Hi Superlew, besides what Bill mentioned check the voltage you are getting on the motor leads. Commutator brushes can get worn out and that also will reduce torque. Years back I remember fixing that and cannot recollect where I got the brushes. It was some other Boombox and not an M90. I have very little knowledge on M90 issues. All I did on mine was a good cleanup, deoxit treatment and belts replacement.
