Well guys after a few months of searching for my "personal grail", I finally found one :ebay: It was not cheap, but I'm very happy that I finally have one not drooling on somebody's pics . Enough introduction then, here it is, my very own SHARP GF-9494X!!!!
Unit is very clean with only minor scratches but of course it has issues on it. But i'll discuss that on the tech forum For now I'm very happy with it. Oh, by the way, I also have his little brother, the SHARP GF-8585C!!! Well enjoy both

Looks REAL clean. Congrats...they are a well built solid sounding box.
Have the speakers been painted? or replacements? Standard is white.

Not really sure Have that same question. Yup, I know the woofer cones are lighter in color. Probably someone here in the forum knows and can enlighten us with an answer

It's definitely one of the best looking boxes out there. Heavy quality feel and good sound. Mine has white woofers with black caps but it looks good with the black ones. Congrats on picking up your grail

Speakers look painted as you can see a little white around edges. But the 9494X is my favorite over 9696 only because I love the needle meters great pick up

Looks like you found an excellent example of the 9494! There is nothing like getting a radio you have wanted for a long time. Both the 9494 and 9595 look so good. Great score!

Thanks Bill for clearing that up. Probably that's why this radio has sound issues now because when they painted the woofer cones they screwed up the inside One the of the needle meters does not move
