I'm also awakening memories of a childhood friend & his SONY CFS-500 when I was a kid. It took me a while to realize the CFS-500 was the 1 I remembered but it has to be the 1. I used it for a day or 2 & I loved it for it's loudness & decent sound quality. It seemed balanced. Not too tinny, not too boomy, with just the righta mount of 'Loudness' boost effect. It had a great stereo sound when you put it on your shoulders & it was a great beat box too, when you laid it on the concrete.

I always loved SONY's flagship products of the eighties to nineties & I always considered that model the king of SONY's beatbox arsenal. How collectible are CFS-500's now?

They are still fairly easy to find. Problem is, many are missing parts. Many of us have duplicate CFS500s but, they all seem to be missing the same things.

A fully working CFS500? $150-200 is too much (imo). I paid $50 for a fully, complete and working one about a 9.5 cosmetics wise.
