Hopefully this hasn't been discussed on the board yet...

First of all, the video starts right off the bat with a Tecsonic MX-900 shot. That right there might be the first music video that opens giving respect to something that all us bbox heads should love. (missing a knob :) )Then throughout the video it's in the background or being held by the S1Ws, or chuck D as the video ends. Most people sporting the vintage boxes in new videos look like tools (like if Justin Beiber would have one in a video), but for PE it's of course as authentic as anyone.

If you haven't seen/heard this one and you like PE at all, you have to check it out. Came out just last year sometime. This video does so much for me. It not only is one of my favorite artists from growing up, but they are flowing in a new song as if it was off Fear of a Black Planet from 89. Chuck D even mentions him being 50 years old, yet he's still just crushing as he always has. Then of course the video is giving props to so many other artists that made up my youth and my current favorites. Even my home of Minnesota is represented big with legends like Dylan and Prince, but also current Rhymesayers artist Brother Ali who is bringing the same emotion of vintage PE to the present. Not sure I could ask for much more in a video. This is 'hip-hop' defined to me. Enjoy. I pause from work and watch this video at least once a week.

Here's some screen caps from the video.

Looks like Chucks turning the speaker, but he's just holding it there.

Anyone got an extra knob, contact PE!

I've seen Public Enemy twice now, both at outdoor festivals, always a great show.

Thanks for posting up the screen shots.

Never seen them yet which totally sucks. Not even sure how many times they've come through Minneapolis in the past 15 years. But in the last year or so I have managed to see Mos Def, De La Soul, Digable Planets, Del/Hiero, Redman/Method Man, Pharcyde, KRS One, Kool Keith, Digital Underground, and more that have all come through the city. If you would've told me when I was 16 that I'd see all those acts when I was in my 30's I wouldn't have believed you. Either would've figured they'd all be retired/dead by now, or I'd be 'too old' and over them. Well, maybe I'm too old, but that's it.

Just flipped sides on 3rd Bass - The Cactus Album. Gotta love the 'Golden Era' of all things hip hop. Music, Boxes, styles, etc.

Agree 1000 % - since I am a freelance writer, I had the honor of speaking with and interviewing Chuck for an interview around the time they performed in Cinci for their 20th anniversary back in 2007, and Chuck is super down to earth and easy to talk to, Funny story, since I also work full time (only freelance on the side), his publicist set up the interview time for a time I was at work, so I had to find an empty conference room so I could have some privacy. So we're talking and I'm taking all kinds of good notes (this was when there was a bit of controversy about Flavor of Love...) about a half hour later, in come some coworkers who had apparently reserved the room for "real work" - I'm like, "shhhhhhh - I've got Chuck D on the line!" and they all backed out of the room, like oops! He was cool with it, and turned out to be one of the pieces I am most proud of!
