Just think though if Lasonic used better quality parts the I931 might cost $400-$500 like all the rest of the newer ones, Altec lansing and TDK :hmmm:

More like $140-$160

Seriously....I love'em :smooch:

Well look at it this way, back in 80's and early 90's the TRC931 went for about $160-$170 new and the TRC975 was about $180-$190 new :hmmm: Now the I931 shipped can go between $120-$200 new black or white and specialty versions are over $300 :-O

So I'm betting if they built it stronger with better parts they would have to sell them for quite a bit more :hmmm:

Given a truly equal comparison that would be true but I'm pretty sure it's much cheaper, faster and simpler to design and build something like this than it was back then due to dramatic advancements in technology, manufacturing and materials. :hmmm:

I...just...can't find anything on the I931 that interests me, the woofers and their grilles is about it...
Everything else just reminds me of a kid's toy (Fisher Price?)
I've always been surprised they have such a following in the Boombox world, being that they aren't the "real deal" from the 80's.. ?

But they are the closest modern day new box to the style of the 80's  Believe me when I 1st went to look at it at Frys electronics ($200 + tax) I thought , DAMN how cheap  But then I bought one off eBay for $120 shipped and after a couple days fell in love with it :-D
