pictures to follow (maybe)

last sunday --one of my sons 'older' girlfriends -- :w00t:
left florida - to go back to live with her parents in georgia

they live up there in some gated community where pit bulls are banned :nonono:

she gave the dog to my kid --to find it a good home -

we are not even supposed to have a pit bull here -
so we HID him here for all the past 7 days :-O
real sad for a young strong loving animal --
to be stuck in a tiny trailer for 7 days....

NOBODY would/could take the dog :'-( :'-(
so - in order to 'buy some more time'.......

we tried to put it in a 'doggie hotel'
but even the big $60 per nite (YIKES) !! places
would not accept a pitpull  :sadno:
---------------------------------------------------

we have always had dogs -- growing up -
love them --
but THIS is the kindest , most gentle dog EVER !!!
never barks or jumps on people --
loves // NEEDS company - 4 years old - extreme healthy--
sleeps at the foot of my kids bed -
is 100% obedient --
the worlds most wonderful dog -- REALLY
-----------------------------------------------

anyway -- due to 'outside forces'
today was his last day here -- :'-( :'-( :'-(
at this moment --
wifey and my son on on the way to the county dog pound :sadno:

we SOOOOOOOOOOOO hope- he gets adopted by a kind family
with a huge yard --and plays frizbee for the long rest of its life

----------------------------------------
sorry to share this -
i mostly have very happy stories
---but sometimes - as we all know -- lifes not 'all good'

praying for Fennessy (his name) :angelic: :angelic:

What a sad, heartbreaking story. It's because of situations like that that I've spent a lifetime taking in stray doggies and kitties. (Also because once, as a kid, my father refused to let me keep a shaggy dog I'd found on the bus [true!], and the experience of handing the dog over to a pound was devastating.) The wife & I were up to seven cats at one point, and I hoped we wouldn't die, for fear of being written up in the local newspaper as some of those "cat people" you always read about. My last "stray" was my mother's 13-year-old beagle, which I took in when dear mom died. (My sister got her car, and none of the other relatives was willing to take on the responsibility of the dog. Needless to say, this did nothing to improve my opinion of the relatives, which was already below zero.) The dog lived for three more years... deaf, often sick, and needing constant attention. But I couldn't say "No." The animal deserved - needed - to be cared for. I'd probably take in your pit bull if you lived closer. But it's good that you don't., because my goal is to live at least one week of my life without a pet before I die. (Maybe I'll do some traveling or rent a cabin on the lake and let my feet dangle in the water.) So far, however, with our two current kitties who have long lives ahead of them, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

You should have placed an ad on C-List. or the newspaper, I'm sure you would have got some responses.. Thats too bad, pits are great dogs. Mine is going on 17 years young.

OMG ---after many sad/sleepless nights :'-( worried about what would really happen
to a pitbull at the pound --
we are mostly now SURE of a happy ending--

instead of the city pound --they took him way out to the country pound -
25 miles west to the big burbs --
out there they dont have trailer lots !! :-D

instead -- its all farms , ranches and 2 acre zoning-- (snobs)

they said there was "a waiting list for healthy , peaceful pitbulls "

so ... suddenly, lifes lookin real good for fennessy :angelic: :angelic:

here are the last and only pictures we have -
in both cases -- the animal in the front-
IS THE DOG !!!

it sucks man. i mean in my opinion its people who make any dog bad . even a cocker spaniel can be brought up vicious.
yes it is true that people train these dogs to fight, but they could train any dog to fight.
i feel for anyone who is hurt being attacked by any dog, i am really fed up tho of all the hate mongering for pitbulls tho.
the completely stupid people who breed them to fight is really annoying.
you did a good thing trying to help out this dog ira.
i still really dont get why the image of rca victor and the iconic image of a kids best friend petey from the little rascals has been so badly demonized by the press.
its just really stupid.

thanks , bill
i admit to being among the vast majority of folks
(down here) who hated //feared all pit bulls --

most of their owners are gang aholes- :dunce:
and you know why they have this breed-

but - we learned alot this week -
and will never again pre-judge any dog

in fact -- we REALLY miss fennessy tonight
:-) :-O

you have to use caution with any dog when you first meet them.
i mean even putting your face down to a mini pin could result in some nasty facial scars if the dog is sketchy.

i mean there is cases where pomeranians have killed infants.

touching story from the woodie man, just kidding Ira, we may have a Pomeranian that will be looking for a new home if she keeps pissing on the floor!!

You did the right thing Ira, I once people that raised these dogs for fighting purposes only. I seen the horror these people inflict on their dog when they quit during a fight.

This is big money and you'll be surprised who some of these people are example: Police Officers, Veterans, Business Owners etc..........

They are great loving dogs and the ignorance of people to believe that these dogs are killers amazes me. Granted there are some that have killed people but in these situation it may have been the previous owner that may had traumitized the dog.

When adopting this breed keep a vigil on his or her behavior if there is some sign of aggressiveness seek a trainer.
