Gotta get some white walls next but i am pretty much done. Got the stripes off and done a few things here and there. This car has original paint its not perfect but its pretty great for its age. I am glad i scooped this car when i did prices on these old box chevys are starting to go up and i think they will continue to do so.

Have you had any more people try to buy it from you? :-) I think it definitely looks better without the pinstriping and also agree about the white-wall tires. Nice ride.

More and more people are asking all the time. I had one kid show up wearing a boombox tshirt asking about it a while back. I let him into the house to show him the boxes. I ended up giving him one of the extra kabooms i had kicking around here. I had one retired cop come to the door and offer 3 grand for the car and i turned it down. Yup new tires soon. Although its hard to do it just yet because the tires on it are almost new. I dont like replacing stuff that is still good but white walls will make it look a lot nicer. The pinstripes came off pretty easy but it took a fair amount of time. Theres not much in terms of dings on this car. There is a spot the size of a dime on the trunk and I have filled in any of the pinhole chips in the paint. It really looks nice. This car was made in canada. It does not have a 305. It actually has a oldmobile 307 that was used in caddys as well. It has ten hp less than the 305 but more torque. The bonus of this motor is that it gets pretty good gas mileage. Over 25 on the freeway and in the City close to 20. The motor does somewhere around 1600 rpm on the freeway at 60 mph. Its just a really nice old car to ride in. I have been wanting to find Another car for the wife so i can collector plate this one. That way i can get insurance for 300 bucks a year. I might try to find her a small pick up truck next but they are getting harder to find now. Its sad how many great old cars like this were crushed during the cash for cars campaign . I mean really I constantly have to explain to people having a 30 year old well kept car is way better for the environment than buying a new car every five years. Yeah getting something brand new is cool but...... I love having a cool old car that reminds me of the 20th century. I can honestly say with more than a decade into the 21st century the cool factor of the 20th century prevails.

Love the clean elegant look. You are happy to have all this white wall tires over. Here in Europe is pain to find some. Must purchase from the States or Canada and shipping is :bang: . And damn gas here - 1.98 dollars for "normal"....per LITER :sadno: . You guys over should say thanks to the car god every morning :-P . Great car. Hate new cheap feel and look cars. My sister have a 5 year old Merc S600 and its a piece of crap seriously , its falling apart  . Love the old cars whit real dignity and build from engineers whit love, passion and proper materials.

That trunk is huge!! Any sound system in it yet? 15's would fit in there so nicely! 2 way plates up in the dash (4x6) and a pair of 6x9's out back! To keep it all stock looking of coarse. Get a high output alternator with the single wire and an optima battery and your good to go! They even have HID conversion kits for those square headlights! 265's out back with the standard size up front for a nice tough stance look with a complete HOOKER header system and Flowmaster Super 40's! :-O  :-D

Just a few ideas :hmmm:
Don't get me started on the motor!! I'll go crazy there!!

THAT model -- will always have great value --

without replacing $$ everything !!!

The roof is still in excellent shape. One tiny pinhole on it that i patched with urethane caulk and textured so it is invisible. As for performance mods its pointless with the low flow 307. This v8 was made to be as fuel efficient as possible with special flow restricted heads. I am ok with that for now. Cant afford the go fast stuff for the time being and when the time comes if the time comes I would just drop a olds big block in there. I can pretty much bolt in any olds motor with no changes to the rest of the car. If i switch to chev I would have to change a bunch of stuff. I thought about doing a dual exhaust for it but after talking to a bunch of people they say with this motor to just leave it alone. The better half is the only one who drives it and she is way to excited when the secondaries open on the four barrel so its just as well. Master Z i like the idea for the tires and wheels. I am going to leave it white tho. No big kicker sound system just a 200 watt jvc deck with some jbl rears i got from a thrift store for ten bucks. . Most of the interest in the car comes from seniors or youths. The middle ground seems uninterested for the most. However most car guys always stop and talk about how nice it is when i am out.

These old chevy's are great and they do hold a good value. The white vinyl top is awesome, I miss the old vinyl tops from the 70's and 80's cars. I also had a 307 in my 1983 hurst olds 15th anniversary car with lightning rod shifters  miss that car too :-D

At first i was a bit spooked about getting a car with a vinyl roof but this one is still in great shape. The car gets a lot of positive comments when it goes to show and shines around here. Just because its a completely original car cept for the tires and battery. Last year i was asked to park it in the front row of one of the shows we went to between a cool old silver hawk and a plymouth fury.

Those big bodies are making a comeback big time. :-D Funny that the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger will soon be the last large rear wheel drive sedans (saloons for our UK members) made in the U.S.
