Finally after almost 2 weeks wait my lovely RX5230 arrived in like new condition. When the mailman rang the doorbell no one at home heard it so I had to wait at the PO to find him and get the box.

Thanks Ira for notifying me about this gem CorafanRIP (Jens) is selling.

Thanks Ira for notifying me about this RX5230 I loved to have for years.
Thanks so much Jens!

Jens, your description was so perfect and the box looks like it came out of an airport duty free shelf back in 1979. I bought it for a high price back then from Doha, Qatar during my travel. That was the most expensive item they had there for sale. It had a "18Watts Big Power" sticker on it.

Now I am enjoying this beautiful box. :breakdance:

I opened it up for a complete cleanup, lube, belt replacement and more love with cotton swab and microfiber cloth. The front speakers were all removed and gave a "Jimmy wash". :w00t:
The rest of the work I have to do in steps during my evening times at home.

I will post pictures later.

Hi Royce, congratulations!! What's the difference between the 5250
and the 5230? Is it an older version? I really like the 5250!

Happy for you!!

To me It is one of the best boomboxes ever made!

Every internal part is made so well. Super nice boombox!

I am giving it more cotton swab and micro fiber love. :-D :-D

More Deoxit Fader Lube 5 bath on contacts and detaled clean up to follow.

I am so excited... I never thought it will look this good.

The chrome on the speaker rims came out like brand new! :breakdance: :breakdance:

:-D I spend several evenings after work and stayed awake till 3:00AM yesterday to clean it all up and put it back together. I took a day vacation to enjoy this beauty.

This is such a box with the RX7700 sound quality.

This model is very rare. No wonder I had to waith so long to aquire this treasure.
High quality build! :-O
I am glad I got it in very nice condition. It all cleaned up like brand new.

I love to have the red fonts BIG POWER 18WATTS sticker ove the cassette door. The cassette door latch is right above the door under the LEDs with soft release. I really like this mechanism. The box is very easy to open up and clean.

Box from Germany (from Jens) that I had to go to the local PO and get it. Luckily it arrived in fantastic shape

Hi Jeff,

Thanks bro!
:-D It looks like 5230 is from a newer generation based on the overall sound and built quality. That is what I think but I could be wrong.

My friend had the same, which he brought from Bahrain. I still have its sweet voice in my ears.

I was also in the queue for this NP, since 1982 or so.
You have jumped the queue and taken it.
So far I have acquired a RX-5100, but 5230 is a class above.
