On some of the high-end boomboxes they have a sleep timer which will actually do that.

I just tried it and when you put the sleep function on it does nothing until you engage the cassette player, then when you do the radio comes on. When the tape gets to the end and the automatic stop disengages the tape player button and the radio shuts off. Love it. Thought it would be kind of redundant if it was for the cassette to play as you would just use the cassette function for that.

Nice one, interesting that the full auto stop is critical path to the radio as well.
